03/23/2011 - Zombii Attack Infests the Nintendo Wii

ZOMBII ATTACK INFESTS THE Wii AND POSES SERIOUS THREAT TO WIPEOUT UNFUN GAMEPLAY

Gamers Digital Brings Physic Based Downloadable Arcade-Style Game to WiiWare Suitable For All Ages

EXCELSIOR, Minnesota (March, 23, 2011) — Today, Gamers Digital issued a nationwide health warning to all current and potential Wii™ users to pay close attention to Zombii Attack, scheduled for release in Spring 2011. Those who download Zombii Attack exclusively on Nintendo’s WiiWare™ service may become infected and suffer from uncontrolled bouts of hysterical laughter, experience intense feelings of exhilaration and become affected with a disposition of overwhelming joy.  Ignoring these symptoms can lead to habit forming fun.

“If you or anyone you know plays Zombii Attack please take every precaution to not have fun, avoid enjoyment and please stifle all laughter in order to prevent further spread of the infection.  Please, be very careful when playing Zombii Attack,” said Gamers Digital CEO and mad developer of Scott Zerby.

How the zombie virus infection spread remains a mystery for now, but it appears Zombii Attack originated deep in the underground labs of Gamers Digital before spreading to highly populate metropolitan cities that are highly interactive using the state of the art Unity game engine.  The undead now overrun these cities. They hide in buildings, launch frenzied attacks and pose a very serious health threat to the remaining survivors and the world at large. Non-gamers should not approach the zombies.

There are scattered reports that one survivor is making a stand armed only with the laws of physics and a trusty rubber band to launch environmental items at zombies before they spread their infection. Those infected by Zombii Attack’s will experience more than 18 ever increasingly difficult levels of zombie madness. Lone survivors must use strategy when launching anvils, tires, experimental highly-explosive z-bombs and even the undead themselves at the endless waves of zombies using the Wii Remote™ with realistic natural motions.

When Zombii Attack’s infectious fun takes over, the only known cure is to recognize the warning signs, arm your slingshot and destroy all attacking zombies before they eat you. Play at your own risk.

Zombii Attack is rated “E+10” by the ESRB. For more information on Zombii Attack, please visit http://www.gamersdigital.com.

03/22/2011 - Nintendo 3DS European Launch This Week
THE NEXT DIMENSION OF ENTERTAINMENT LAUNCHES ACROSS EUROPE

Pick Up Your Glasses-Free 3D Entertainment System This Week

The Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo’s new device which offers portable entertainment in 3D without the need for special glasses, launches this week in Europe on March 25th. Play games in 3D, take 3D photographs and enjoy engaging new social applications that will offer a new surprise every day. Nintendo 3DS will launch in Cosmos Black and Aqua Blue alongside 13 3D games including nintendogs™ + cats, Pilotwings Resort™, Super Street Fighter™IV 3D Edition, Tom Clancy's™ Ghost Recon® Shadow Wars, PES 2011 3D and The Sims™ 3.

“Nintendo 3DS represents a dynamic shift in how we interact with games and continues the tradition Nintendo has for changing the technology landscape in the same way it did with touch-screen gaming in 2004 and motion-controlled gaming in 2006,” said Laurent Fischer, Nintendo of Europe's Managing Director of Marketing & PR. “People will truly need to experience it to believe their eyes.”

Nintendo 3DS also comes with a large selection of pre-installed software, including Face Raiders, a game that asks users to battle with funny depictions of their own faces, AR Games, Mii Maker, StreetPass Mii Plaza, Activity Log, the Nintendo 3DS Camera and Nintendo 3DS Sound. The Nintendo 3DS also features new connectivity functions called SpotPass and StreetPass.

The StreetPass feature offers a new element of fun and surprise when you meet another Nintendo 3DS user. StreetPass allows you to wirelessly connect with other Nintendo 3DS systems around you, as you move through your daily life. Each time you open your Nintendo 3DS you may find another Mii™ character has greeted you in the StreetPass Mii Plaza gathering point, which will subsequently aid you to complete StreetPass minigames. Many games also utilise StreetPass to exchange data and you don’t even need to have the Game Card in the system. Once you see the green light on the right shoulder of your Nintendo 3DS, you will know you have exchanged data with someone and a new surprise awaits!

The SpotPass feature connects to Wi-Fi access points to go online automatically, even if the system is in Sleep Mode. It is compatible with public hotspots and you can also use your wireless broadband Internet connection at home. Once connected, the Nintendo 3DS system will be able to receive new content and updates on a regular basis. Later this year you could be viewing sports highlights in full 3D on your Nintendo 3DS courtesy of Eurosport – or spending your morning commute in the fun and quirky world of Shaun the Sheep, from Aardman Animations, just some of the possibilities available with SpotPass.

From around late May, even more features will be available*. People will be able to update their Nintendo 3DS to gain access to the Nintendo eShop to download new content, such as 3D games and classic games directly to the device. The simple update will also provide the ability to browse the Internet; play 3D video content; and transfer previously downloaded Nintendo DSiWare™ on a Nintendo DSi™ system to the Nintendo 3DS.

NINTENDO 3DS CHANGES THE WAY YOU VIEW PORTABLE ENTERTAINMENT

New System's March 27 Launch Ushers in the Era of 3D Fun without Special Glasses

REDMOND, Wash., March 21, 2011 – Nintendo introduces portable entertainment in 3D – without the need for special glasses. The Nintendo 3DS™ system goes on sale in the United States on March 27 at a suggested retail price of $249.99. It comes with a collection of pre-installed games and fun features, with more on the way.

"Nintendo 3DS can play 3D video games and take 3D pictures, but that's just the tip of the iceberg," said Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. "The 3D display is amazing in its own right, but just as compelling are the new forms of game play it delivers, and the groundbreaking ways it will connect players to new content … and each other."

To celebrate the arrival of the system, Nintendo is holding a midnight launch event starting at 9 p.m. Eastern time on March 26 at the Best Buy store in Union Square in New York City. The event will feature hands-on Nintendo 3DS demos with food, music and giveaways (while supplies last), all leading up to a countdown to midnight, when the Nintendo 3DS system goes on sale. For those who can't make it to New York, additional midnight launch events will be held at several Best Buy stores throughout the country. Fans can visit http://www.bestbuy.com/3DS for more information. Nintendo is also installing more than 6,000 kiosks at retailers across the country over the next couple of months to let people demo the new Nintendo 3DS system.

Nintendo 3DS has 18 games available on launch day, with more than 30 total available by early June. Nintendo-published games available March 27 include:

  • Pilotwings Resort™, a high-flying aerial adventure that lets you soar over a tropical island in a plane, on a hang glider or with a rocket belt. You can take on more than 30 challenging missions, or go sightseeing and snap pictures in the game.

  • nintendogs™ + cats, which lets you train and interact with your very own puppy and kitten. They react to your voice and will even welcome you with a lick of the face as you lean in. There are three different versions of the software, each featuring a different starting breed: Toy Poodle, Golden Retriever or French Bulldog. In each version, players can eventually unlock all 27 different breeds to enjoy.

  • Steel Diver™, an action-packed and immersive 3D submarine combat adventure. Take command of your sub to control its speed, depth and pitch, and use both the touch-screen and motion-sensitive controls to navigate through lush undersea environments and fire torpedoes at enemy ships and obstacles.

Nintendo's third-party publishing partners are rolling out their biggest names for launch day. Games ready for March 27 include Super Street Fighter® IV 3D Edition from CAPCOM, The Sims™ 3 from EA, Madden NFL Footbal l from EA SPORTS, Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D from Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., LEGO® Star Wars® III: The Clone Wars™ from LucasArts™, RIDGE RACER® 3D from NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., Super Monkey Ball™ 3D from SEGA, BUST-A-MOVE UNIVERSE™ from Square-Enix, Inc., SAMURAI WARRIORS®: Chronicles from TECMO KOEI AMERICA Corp., plus Asphalt™ 3D, Combat of Giants™: Dinosaurs 3 D, Rayman® 3D and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon® Shadow Wars from UBISOFT.

The system is also ready to play nearly every single Nintendo DS™ game with its original 2D graphics. Nintendo DS games that required the use of the Game Boy™ Advance slot are not compatible with the Nintendo 3DS system.

Nintendo 3DS features two screens. The top screen displays 3D images without the need for special glasses. The bottom screen is touch-sensitive. It also has three cameras. One inner camera points at you, while two exterior cameras let you take pictures of your friends and family in 3D or 2D. It weighs approximately 8 ounces and is available in Cosmo Black or Aqua Blue.

Built-in games and applications include Mii Maker™, which uses facial recognition technology to create a Mii™ character that looks just like you; Face Raiders™, which requires you to shoot at comical depictions of your own face as well as others around you; AR Games™, which superimpose graphics and animations on the real world using the included AR Cards; and Nintendo 3DS Sound, which lets you listen to MP3 or AAC music files, or make your own recordings and play with them using fun filters. The StreetPass™ feature lets some of your games and applications wirelessly swap small bits of game data as you pass other Nintendo 3DS users throughout the day, if you choose. SpotPass™, on the other hand, lets the Nintendo 3DS system detect wireless hotspots or wireless LAN access points and allows users to obtain information and game data when the system is in Sleep Mode.
