03/04/2013 - Discover the Origin of Chase McCain in Lego City 3DS
10:36 pm pdt
Special unlock codes for new
costumes and vehicles to be released on Nintendo social media channels post-launch!
DISCOVER HOW CHASE McCAIN WENT FROM ROOKIE TO SUPER-COP IN LEGO® CITY UNDERCOVER: THE CHASE BEGINS ON NINTENDO 3DS
With the Wii U exclusive LEGO CITY Undercover - launched last week - bringing the
adventures of legendary cop Chase McCain to homes across Europe, it’s time for Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL console
owners to get a piece of the crime-fighting action in LEGO CITY Undercover: The Chase Begins. Released on 26th April 2013
as a Nintendo 3DS exclusive, experience Chase McCain’s modest beginnings as a rookie cop, fresh out of the police academy,
and ready to dive headlong into the criminal underbelly of LEGO CITY.
Developed by TT Games, LEGO CITY Undercover:
The Chase Begins is set two years before the events of LEGO CITY Undercover on Wii U, and charts the rise of Chase McCain
as he gradually earns his revered status within the LEGO CITY Police Department (LCPD), headed up by Chief Gleeson and Deputy
Dunby. Progressing from the humble beginnings of solving petty crimes to infiltrating the meanest gangs on the streets of
LEGO CITY, Chase McCain soon encounters one gang headed up by a muscular crook who the rookie will come to know well throughout
his career – Rex Fury!
As an emerging undercover investigator learning the art of disguise, Chase McCain
will need to adopt a variety of disguises – including a fireman, a robber, a construction worker and a miner - in order
to blend into his surroundings. With this in mind, and beginning the week after the launch of the game, Nintendo of Europe
will be releasing unlock codes for extra Chase McCain costumes on its Nintendo 3DS Facebook and Twitter accounts, including
a mime artist and a zombie, to ensure Chase can remain anonymous wherever he goes! In addition, within the game you have the
chance to collect over 70 mini figures that are assigned to the different disguise categories, opening up the possibility
to play as some of the more unusual characters of LEGO CITY.
As part of the post-launch offering, Nintendo of Europe
will also be releasing on social media an unlock code for a very handy vehicle to call upon when criminals are making a hasty
retreat. Once unlocked, vehicles are available at Vehicle Call-in Points located around LEGO CITY, but for Chase a set of
wheels is never far away, with over 50 different vehicles available to commandeer. Pesky criminals are not even safe whilst
airborne or at sea, as speedboats and helicopters will become available as the storyline unfolds.
For the launch
of the recent LEGO CITY Undercover on Wii U, Nintendo of Europe launched a series of webisodes on its YouTube channels for
fans to get acquainted with the key players in the plot to fight – and commit, in the case of Rex Fury and other villains
- crime in LEGO CITY. With LEGO CITY Undercover: The Chase Begins acting as a prequel to this tale, Nintendo will be releasing
another series of webisodes for all Nintendo 3DS owners to check out what lies in store in this earlier chapter of the LEGO
It’s time for Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL console owners to get a piece of LEGO CITY
action when LEGO CITY Undercover: The Chase Begins launches across Europe on 26th April. Meanwhile, for all Wii U owners,
don’t forget you can already do some investigative police work from the comfort of your sofa in LEGO CITY Undercover,
out now and available as a standalone game or in a limited-edition software bundle with a Chase McCain mini figure .

04/01/2013 - Endless Space Announced for Neo Geo X
8:40 pm pdt
Studios announces the development of Endless Space - Wings of Freedom for Neo Geo X
Haarlem, The Netherlands – April 1st 2013 - Video
games developer Amplitude Studios is proud to announce the development of the first Neo Geo X exclusive title: Endless
Space – Wings of Freedom. This Endless Space spin-off will offer a brand new 2D horizontal shoot’em up
experience to all Neo Geo X players. Dedicated to involving the gamers in the creation of their games, Amplitude Studios is
once again inviting the community to follow and discuss the creation of its latest effort.
Amplitude CEO Mathieu
Girard says: “We are all big fans of the SNK platforms here at Amplitude Studios, and we have always dreamt of creating
something unique for the Neo Geo. The release of the Neo Geo X seemed like the perfect opportunity to make that dream come
true. We know shoot‘em up fans have high standards of quality and we aim to live up to them. We’re very excited
to bring the Endless Space universe to a new type of player, and we hope that success could even lead to a collector AES version
of the game.”
for ‘Endless Space – Wings of Freedom’:
Science has always believed that at any galactic core
sits a black hole of tremendous size and density. Following a trail of Endless ruins, based on map fragments found on a lunar
temple, a Pilgrim exploration group is about to discover that this may not be the case... Hopping from planet to planet
and system to system, the fleet must fight off increasingly large and powerful waves of automated defenders bent on preventing
them from unveiling the truth.
Challenges and questions await
the player as they drive toward the core: What secrets are the Endless hiding? What treasures – or horrors – lie
in wait? How long can my thumbs keep this up?
of ‘Endless Space – Wings of Freedom’:
• 1-2 Player old school 2D arcade action
4 different ships with their own weapons and playstyles
• Level, skill and power-up system inspired by RPGs
Arcade, Boss, Endless Survival and 2P Versus modes
• Specific 16/9 and 4/3 modes
• Chiptune music by FlyByNo
