01/24/2015 - Space Shmup Super Galaxy Squadron Now Available
Space Shmup Hotness: It's Super Galaxy Squadron and it's out now

Presenting the debut title from New Blood Interactive: Super Galaxy Squadron!

Super Galaxy Squadron is a space shmup that is NOT a bullet hell and it is NOT hardcore unless you choose for it to be hardcore, so you won't be dying and getting shamed at the arcade by the big kids (jerks!).

It's got 14 playable ships and 6 stages with unique enemies and bosses with a kickin' rad old school soundtrack by Random Encounter.

There's also Endless Mode and full controller support so you can get your gamepad on and play forever.

AND it's only $7.99 with a 15% launch week discount and all proceeds are going to Child's Play.

There's no excuse not to play this unless you just hate good things.

But if you remain skeptical, it's also playable at PAX South and MAGFest this weekend, come get some.

01/21/2015 - Nightmare Defender Now Available on Google Play
Pokemon meets tower defense - Nightmare Defender available on Google Play

Smash away hordes of monsters with your bow, train your guards to help you stand a chance.

Hamburg, Germany – Nightmare Defender released for Android. Nightmare Defender is a tower defense game that brings elements of pet training games like Pokemon into this genre. Besides your bow and magic which you use to defend yourself against waves of monsters, you have to take care of guards which in return will take care of you and be the weapon that you need in an endless war. Nightmare Defender is for all the tower defense fans who like to slaughter endless waves of monsters but also want fresh ideas and experiences.

The basic principles of the game are simple. Your main weapon to defend yourself is your bow. There are 15 attributes that you can put experience points into to increase all kinds of skills, including the strength of the bow, your castels defense or even things like a chance to be reanimated when you die. Besides that the player has access to 9 different kinds of magic, which are also upgradeable and are getting stronger the higher your magic skills get. The fresh aspect for this kind of game are the guards. Guards are creatures that you can share your experience points and your gold with. In return, they will defend you with their life and grow stronger. Guards also have upgradeable attributes, like strength, stamina or courage, which make them more powerful and change their behaviour. E.g. a higher courage for the dog guard will make it more confident, which will result in higher attack rates. When guards reach a certain level, they evolve. The game offers altogether 12 different forms the guards can evolve into.

01/21/2015 - Nintendo Debuts New 3DS XL During PAX South

New PAX,  New  Nintendo 3DS XL! During the first PAX South event in San Antonio, Texas, from Jan. 23 to Jan. 25, Nintendo is giving fans a chance to get some hands-on time with the New Nintendo 3DS XL system before it launches in the U.S. on Feb. 13. Upcoming  Nintendo 3DS games The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D and  Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, which both use the enhanced features of New Nintendo 3DS XL, will also be available to play.

New Nintendo 3DS XL provides a number of new enhancements designed to offer the smoothest and most engrossing portable gaming experience possible. The system features a wider range of controls with the addition of a C Stick and ZL/ZR buttons, beautifully enhanced super-stable 3D via face-tracking technology and built-in NFC functionality that allows for communication with amiibo figures. The system also has faster processing power than the Nintendo 3DS system, which allows some software to start up faster. The increase in CPU power also allows improved download speeds and smoother transitions when switching between software and when using Miiverse. (Download speeds may vary depending on Internet connections.)

PAX South runs for three days, and fans of  The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask definitely know the importance of a 72-hour timeline within the game. To celebrate the upcoming launch of  The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D on Feb. 13, Nintendo is hosting a “72-Hour Mask Challenge,” which asks fans to create their own personalized masks. For more details, stay tuned to the Nintendo of America Twitter account (@NintendoAmerica).

In addition to playing New Nintendo 3DS XL and many fun games, visitors to the Nintendo booth (#1234) at PAX South will have the opportunity to take photos with a real-life replica of the Majora’s Mask and receive paper versions to wear around the convention (while supplies last). Fans that come dressed in costumes inspired by  The Legend of Zelda will be able to bypass lines to get hands-on time with  The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D.

Nintendo 3DS games scheduled to be shown include:

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D from Nintendo
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate from Capcom
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS from Nintendo
