Take On Mars: New Update & Developer Livestream

The update will have players grow their own food in the unforgiving conditions of the Red Planet and will be showcased by its developers on Friday, 15:00 UTC.

Prague, Czech Republic, Thursday March 19th 2015

Bohemia Interactive today released an update for its Early Access title Take On Mars. The update equips all Take On Mars players with the ability to grow plants that produce consumable food. From now on, players will also need to be careful about their hydration and general health status.

The update is a first glance at the advanced survival features planned for Take On Mars – when combined with features that were previously available in the game (like the pressurised buildings, properly simulated Martian gravity and advanced physics of world objects), players will now be able to experience some new  challenges that future colonists would likely be facing on Mars.

As well as that, the contents of this new update will be showcased in a developer livestream on Friday, March 20th at 15:00 UTC. The session will be hosted by Bohemia Interactive’s Associate Producer Matt Lightfoot and the Take On Mars Project Lead – Martin Melichárek aka Dram.

"We would love to show the new content to players directly in the multiplayer mode, so that they can have a first-hand experience with how it works and what it brings to the game. And one more thing: we will try to provide our fans with an update on how the development is going in general. I want to talk about the challenges we are facing and how our small development team is dealing with them – we want to keep our players in the loop" said Melichárek.

Shards of War: Bigpoint introduces new Sentinel Breach

Hamburg, March 17, 2015 – Bigpoint reveals the sixteenth playable character in the science fiction oriented MOBA game Shards of War. Breach is an attack character. Riding an enslaved A.I. glider into battle he focuses on zoning out enemies with his superior area control abilities.

Humanity will rise above

Let´s start literally from the very top. Breach´s ultimate skill, ‘Overlord’, lets him soar above his foes. Whilst bombarding the entire area in front of him, he becomes temporarily invincible. He can also use the extremely versatile ‘Magnetosphere’ bombs which stick to the closest target and can be detonated precisely for maximum impact.  They are especially effective against drones and towers, dealing increased damage to them.

Escaping from Breach is no easy feat. Groups of fleeing foes must be especially wary of ‘Bio-Net’. This piercing shot’s initial damage increases over time and slows all enemies hit. Added to that, Breach´s passive skill ‘Tentacled Pursuit’ gives him increased movement speed after a period of no damage, making it even more difficult to escape his clutches.

Finally the ‘Nanophage’ skill is an extremely effective way to clear entire areas of strategic importance. This bomb deals damage to all enemies as long they stay in its area of influence, making them keen to leave as soon as possible.

Rage against the Machines

For years, humanity has been hunted. Driven underground by the Overmind, and cowering into the shadows as robotic eyes scan for movement. Yet there are those who fight back. Breach is a bogeyman feared by the Overmind’s minions, his lash cutting through steel and layers of code, enslaving the fearsome automatons to his will.

Among the human survivors of the Singularity shard, he is akin to a legend—a lone figure hacking into the Overmind’s collective, turning the machines against themselves. It seems, that for the remnants of humanity, the dream may be over. However, for the Overmind and its minions, the nightmare is just beginning.

Shards of War is the world's first science fiction-oriented MOBA game and available via a free-to-play client version. It combines Teamplay with an intelligent strategy, character mastery as well as classic top-down shooter controls (WASD) provide action-packed PvP battles in a unique setting.

In Shards of War, two teams of five compete against each other in 20-minute matches, fighting for PvP dominance on the game map. The increasing number of characters currently measures 16 unique Sentinels, each specialized in a certain field: tank, operative, assassin or medic.

Record Number of Attendees For 4-Day San Francisco Event & Game Connection Development Awards

San Francisco, CA, USA – March 16, 2015 – As Game Connection 2015 came to a close the first week of March in San Francisco, the conference had a record-breaking turnout of more than 2,700 attendees and visitors, who participated in more than 11,983 meetings with 247 exhibitors – a sold-out show, and an increase of attendees by 60 percent from the previous year.  There were also 296 certified buyers this year, an increase by 52 percent from 2014. Development studios and game companies were there to showcase new releases and upcoming game projects - some of which were unveiled exclusively at the 4-day industry event, one of the largest gaming conferences hosted in San Francisco this year.

Game Connection 2015 brought members from all aspects of the industry together, from development, publishing, and funding, to production, middleware, marketing, and distribution and where big players sit side by side with indie developers and the future stars of tomorrow.
