12/09/2016 - New Shantae Game Arrives December 20th
SHANTAE: HALF-GENIE HERO DANCES INTO DANGER STARTING DECEMBER 20

XSEED Games Confirms Retail Launch Date for PS4TM, PS®Vita and Wii U Systems

Torrance, Calif. — December 9, 2016 — XSEED Games, the independent-minded console publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., today announced that their retail edition of the crowd-funded action game developed by WayForward, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, will launch for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system on December 20. To celebrate the popular indie series’ first full HD release, a limited “Risky Beats” retail edition will be packaged with a musical selections CD containing 30 songs from the game’s soundtrack for PS4™ and “PSVita” systems as well as for Wii U™ system in North America for a suggested retail price of $29.99. The retail release date for Wii U will be one week later on December 27. WayForward will launch the PS4™ system and Wii U versions digitally on December 20 from PlayStation®Store and Nintendo eShop, respectively, for $19.99. XSEED Games will handle publishing duties for the digital “PSVita” system release from PS Store, also scheduled for December 20, for $19.99.

Following three highly successful releases with Shantae, Shantae: Risky’s Revenge, and Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero reacquaints players with the cast of Shantae in full HD. The magical world of Sequin Land is more vibrant than ever with high-definition graphics that retain the charm of the original 2D hand-drawn sprites the series is known for. Shantae, the spirited young half-genie, must once again defend Scuttle Town as the pirate captain and self-proclaimed Queen of the Seven Seas, Risky Boots, plots to steal a newly discovered limitless source of power.

Shantae has previously protected her hometown from all forms of evil including steam-powered pirates, undead evildoers, and militaristic madmen, and is ready to take on Risky Boots with her trademark Hair Whip attack and Belly Dance moves which give her the power to transform into eight different creatures. Non-stop action with immersive 2.5D environments and a new relic system give novice and expert players a uniquely tailored platforming experience. All of Sequin Land becomes a fully explorable world— after conquering massive bosses, the Arcade-style action stages can be revisited to discover new items and secrets based on experience gained.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is developed by WayForward for PS4™, “PSVita”, and Wii U. XSEED Games will be publishing the “Risky Beats” physical editions, which will each be available packaged with a musical selections CD, for $29.99. The PS4™ and “PSVita” retail releases will be available December 20, while the Wii U retail release will be available December 27. This title has been rated “T for Teen” by the
ESRB with the descriptors of Cartoon Violence and Suggestive Themes.

12/08/2016 - Blue Wizard Digital Releases Space Tyrant Closed Beta on Steam
Blue Wizard Digital releases Space Tyrant to closed beta on Steam.

Blue Wizard Digital is following up their debut hit, Slayaway Camp, with a wickedly amusing 4x roguelike that has just landed in closed beta on Steam.

In Space Tyrant, you’ll build a terrifying space fleet, devastate planets, and slaughter peaceful extraterrestrials in your relentless march to total domination!

From people who designed, produced, drew stuff for, or ate lunch with the people who made Bejeweled, Peggle, and Plants vs Zombies comes a more sinister strategic experience with far fewer unicorns.

“We all enjoyed 4x and roguelike games but found our minds wandering to nearby squirrels, etc, during a typical session,” says tyrannical overlord, Jason Kapalka, “under Blue Wizard Digital, we set out to make a zero-attention span mega-empire game, where you could have titanic space battles and huge galaxy-spanning conquests but not run over your employer-mandated allotment of lunch-eating minutes.”

“We didn't care about winning any "cultural victories" or "Space United Nations" crap; we wanted to disintegrate guys and watch tons of weird spaceships explode. So there is a whole lot of that, plus collecting artifacts and leveling up and conquering planets and executing ambassadors! Also we hear you like cards? We have cards. So many cards, let me tell you.”

But it's not all vaporizing mewling, hapless slavelings. While bashing your way through space, you’ll eventually face off against the ‘mall cops’ of the universe - the ASTRONS. They might try to slap your hand and call your parents, but a truly merciless tyrant will plow right through these goody two-shoes. And to reward your unsavory efforts, a whole new empire will be yours to agitate. New races of scientifically implausible creatures to lord over, new types of frankly ridiculous technology to research, new commanders to throw into the fray, new cards to, um, do card things with.

To get in on this dastardly beta, visit the game’s
official website and sign up for the newsletter. Anyone who signs up will receive a beta key within a day or so and be up and tyranting in no time. Here are some handy links (screenshots available in the Press Kit):

Today we can announce the release date for BATMAN - The Telltale Series Episode 5: 'City of Light'.

The final of five episodes in the season, Episode 5: 'City of Light' will be available digitally worldwide starting Tuesday December 13th on PC from the Telltale Online Store, Steam, and other digital distribution services, on the Xbox Games Store for Xbox One® and Xbox 360, and on the PlayStation®Network for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. The episode will be available the same day for compatible iOS devices via the App Store, and for compatible Android-based devices via Google Play.

Special note for the finale: Players will begin this episode in very different places depending on where they chose to go in the third act of Episode 4.

Additionally, Episode 1: 'Realm of Shadows' is now FREE to download for PC via Steam. Telltale has also released a performance patch for BATMAN - The Telltale Series on Steam, updating the game to support a wider range of PC configurations and address some of the concerns we heard when the game launched earlier this year. This patch contains significant performance improvements as well as adding numerous performance settings to allow users to customize the game for their systems.

In Episode 5, the leader of the Children of Arkham prepares to execute the final act of a plan to destroy the Wayne family name, and the people closest to you are in their path of vengeance. Can Batman's ultimate secret be kept - his very identity - when it is causing chaos and death in Gotham? The fate of the Wayne family and of the city itself rests on your choices. What will you do? How far will you go? Which mask will you wear?

The series is also available to purchase at retailers in North America and Europe as a special Season Pass Disc, which includes the first of five episodes in the season, and grants access to the subsequent four episodes as they become available for download via online updates.

Rendered to look like a living, breathing comic book, Telltale's vision of Batman features an award-winning cast of talent, including Troy Baker in the role of Bruce Wayne, Travis Willingham as Harvey Dent, Erin Yvette as Vicki Vale, Enn Reitel as Alfred Pennyworth, Murphy Guyer as Lieutenant James Gordon, Richard McGonagle as Carmine Falcone, Jason Spisak as Oswald Cobblepot, Dave Fennoy as Lucius Fox, Anthony Ingruber as John Doe, and Laura Bailey as Selina Kyle.

BATMAN - The Telltale Series Episode 5: City of Light is rated M (Mature) for Violence, Blood and Gore, and Language by the ESRB. The series is published by Telltale Games in partnership with Warner Bros.
