So you didn't get into that panel you wanted. And you didn't get the ticket for that autograph you wanted. Now what, you ask? Why not step outside and check out some of the other events happening around Comic Con. Read on for our picks for the best things to see and do.

One of the best tips I can give you with regards to Comic Con is to always have a back up plan. You may not get into every panel you were aiming for. With that in mind, let's take a look at some of the major events happening outside the convention center during the day.

Every day of the convention, right next door at the Marriott Marquis and Marina is the Nintendo Gaming Lounge. Located on the first floor (look for the signs) and come take part in the Play Nintendo Challenge, take part in a photo op and maybe even score some swag. Kids 12 and under can take part in the Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U tournament. Best part? It's all free.

Card game fans take note, the Marriott will also be hosting daily Magic The Gathering tournaments. There are entry fees required. Details can be found at this (LINK).

For the hardcore Game of Thrones fans, you'll want to partake in the Scavenger Hunt. The game starts on Preview Night and concludes Saturday afternoon. There are tasks to complete both inside and outside the convention center. Further details can be found at this (Link).

If you need more GoT, then there is the House of Black and White Hall of Faces Experience (628 L Street). Taking place all four days of the Con, this is an immersive experience featuring photo ops, props from the show, new product releases and swag for the lucky first 500 guests each day. You'll also have the chance to add your portrait to the Hall of Faces using some way cool digital effects. Get there early as the line builds quickly.

To celebrate 50 years of Star Trek, the Michael J. Wolf Fine Arts Gallery (363 5th Ave.) will be preseting an exhibition dedicated to Trek's long history. Featuring works by several notable artists (including Leonard Nimoy himself!) the gallery will also be hosting artists signing throughout the Con. Full details and artist schedule can be found at this (Link).

What's life like on a boat during a zombie apocalypse? Find out at the 5th Avenue Pier behind the convention center for a Fear the Walking Dead yacht experience. This daily event is free for all ages 13 and up. There will also be an autograph session with the cast on Saturday at noon.

Fans of South Park will want to head over to the Martin Luther King Jr. Promenade as Comedy Central celebrates the upcoming 20th season of the show. Plenty of photo ops abound as well an art gallery as well as a retrospective gallery. Or you could always just kick back and watch a few episodes as Hulu will be playing episodes all day every day of the Con.

AdultSwim returns to Comic Con with their popular AdultSwim on the Green carnival. Featuring games, photos ops and of course the Meatwad Full Dome Experience. As nighttime descends, different screenings will take place. It's free to attend but you must RSVP. Full details and schedule of events can be found at this (Link).

Do you love cats? Make your reservation today for the Cat Cafe. For $15 you get a beverage, a snack and 30 minutes to snuggle with cats! Full details and reservation info can be found at this (Link).

To coincide with the DVD release of Batman V Superman, the MLK Promenade (326 W. Harbor Blvd.) will host the Warner Bros. Batman V Superman Experience every day of the Con. Details are sparse but we know the Batmobile will be present and you'll have the chance to score giveaways as well as partake in a scavenger hunt.

Fox Television and FX Network are taking over the Bayfront lawn next to Hall H with several interactive exhibits. Fox invites you to enter the world of Son of Zorn, featuring a giant climbing wall and then witness The Rocky Horror Picture Show in a VR experience. Not to be outdone, FX is also providing a VR experience focusing on American Horror Story. Score some swag and take some pictures in the sculpture garden featuring busts of some iconic characters from the show. There will also be plenty of seats so you can kick back and relax.
