So you finally made it to geek nirvana: San Diego Comic Con. But as you will find out soon enough, not everything happens inside the convention center. There's a whole slew of events that happen throughout the surrounding neighborhood known as the Gaslamp Quarter. So without further adieu, here's a list in no particular order of events you may want to check out:

While the show Vikings, won't have a panel this year at Comic Con, you can still test your Vikings knowledge and throw some axes at Throw It on Saturday, 7/20 from 2-5pm. Alexander Ludwig and Katheryn Winnick will be making appearances during this time as well. More Info Here: [Link]

Fox Animation will host Animation Domination at the Children's Museum Park (326 W. Harbor Dr.) featuring rides, games, food and swag featuring The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, Bless the Harts and Family Guy. Open daily, Thursday through Sunday.

To promote the upcoming series Pennyworth, you are invited to the Oxford Social Club located at the Pendry Hotel (435 Fifth Ave.) where if you are granted access (there's a secret password) you'll be transported back to London of the 1960's. Featuring music and performances of the era, you may also stumble into the seedier side of the London underground. Open daily, Thursday through Saturday.

The Marriott Marquis and Marina (333 W. Harbor Blvd.) will host the Esports Lounge daily during Comic Con. Celebrity appearances and daily gaming tournaments along with prizes and freebies will occur each day.

SYFY returns with their popular karaoke bus and trivia trolley. Departing daily, you'll want to get there extra early to sign up for a departure time.. The bus depart from Union Cowork (704 J Street) and the trolley departs from the Pendry Hotel (550 J Street). Music, trivia and free swag! Daily, Thurday through Saturday.

Do you love mini-golf? Of course you do, especially when it's hosted by Comedy Central! In celebration of the 20th season of South Park, come to the San Diego Wine and Culinary Center (200 Harbor Dr., #120) for some nine hole mini gold and exclusive South Park tee shirts. Comedy Central will also be promoting the return of Crank Yankers so stop by and meet the puppets of the upcoming season.  Open daily.

One of the most popular offsite events is the Interactive Zone at Petco Park. This year promises to be just as awesome as in years past. Featuring a disco party and swag from RBUK (that's Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty for you uninitiated), Discovery Channel's 40-foot sharkzilla for photo-ops, the ever popular Hello Kitty Cafe, featuring very exclusive merchandise and swag and the opportunity to step into another dimension at the Twilight Zone Experience. Get there early as the stand-by line is sure to be big for this. Other activities and surprises await at Petco Park!

Need to take a break from all the craziness? Need some coffee to collect yourself? How about a cat on your lap? Look no further than the return of the Cat Cafe (472 Third Ave.) Book a 45 minute time slot where for $20 you can relax with a fuzzball and a snack. Space is limited so you're assured some quality time with the kitties. Open daily.

Warner Brothers will host two separate events for two of their biggest films of the year so far. In front of the Omni Hotel (675 L Street)  you are welcome to the Chilladelphia Winter Carnival from Shazam! where you can try your luck at a variety of carnival games for a chance to win some cool prizes. There will also be a walk-through based on Detective Pikachu with several photos ops and a chance to win prizes. Open daily through Saturday.

AMC is bringing back their popular DeadQuarters where you can experience highlights from both The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead. Located at 326 W. Harbor Blvd., you can also demo the newest VR game and entering a contest to become a playable character in The Walking Dead mobile game. AMC is also partnering with Feeding America and will be accepting canned good donations. Speaking of zombies, this year promises to be the final Zombiewalk through the streets of the Gaslamp. On Saturday the 20th at 7pm sharp, you can join or just watch the shambling hordes through the streets of San Diego. All information including how to participate can be located here: [Link]

FX Network returns to the lawn of the Hilton Bayfront, adjacent to the convention center with one of the most popular offsite events each year. You'll need to pre-register at www.FXSDCC.com which will grant you access to activities promoting Archer, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mayans M.C., What We Do In The Shadows and American Horror Story: 1984. This year's AHS theme is entitled Face the Darkness where you'll be immersed in classic 1980's horror tropes. If it's anything like the ones from years past, this will be one of the most talked about offsite events!

Amazon Studios returns with one of the largest offsites, highlighting two new series and one returning favorite: The Boys, Carnival Row and The Expanse. Located at the corner of the MLK Promenade and 1st (look for the large tower, you can't miss it), you'll be able to step inside a neo-Victorian era lounge, a Rocinante spaceship and an elaborate crime-scene setup. Refreshments will be provided by Carl's Jr. Last year's immersive Jack Ryan experience was one of the highlights for me, personally. I can't wait to revisit Amazon Studios again this year!

Celebrating 80 years, Batman will be honored as the first inductee into the Comic Con Museum Character Hall of Fame. The main event occurrs on Wednesday night, the 17th but the entire weekend is devoted to the Caped Crusader, featuring a 68,000 square foot pop up exhibit. Featuring a gaming lounge, a skydiving VR experience, artwork and several displays. Located at 2131 Pan American Way, please note that it is not near the convention center but actually two miles away. This would be great to visit on a day you don't have a badge.

Adult Swim on the Green returns to Comic Con with massive offsite located on the lawns behind the convention center. Featuring the return of several favorites from Rick and Morty, including the Rickmobile as well as a variety of games, food and activities, the event is for the 18 and over crowd only. You can try your skill at the Snickers Strong Man high striker game, have your mind transported into another dimension via the Rickflector, or attempt to pop one of the least unpopable balloons on Earth. Sounds confusing? What do you expect from the minds at Adult Swim! Opens daily.
