Autobots Roll Out! Transformers 3 Movie Review Written By: Harald Schossman 06/27/2011
Once again director Michael Bay unleashes
the Transformers and this time the Decepticons have dark plans for mankind. Plans that I shall not reveal here so I won’t
spoil the fun.
Since the second movie earned mixed reactions the filmmakers set out
to make this third installment the best Transformers movie yet. Due to the writer’s strike the screenwriters had but
three weeks to develop a script for Revenge of the Fallen, this time Bay spent nine months with his writers creating the story
and the effort shows. The plot is the most intricate and the darkest of the trilogy. Indeed the premise is very different:
the heroes are trapped, there’s no cavalry coming, the stakes are higher and the characters are easier to relate to.

This doesn’t mean that there isn’t plenty of action –
it’s a Michael Bay film after all and when it comes to action Bay is unparalleled. Add to this the best 3D since Avatar
and you have a sure fire hit. The press screening was in IMAX 3D and all I can say – if you’re going to see any
movie in 3D or better yet IMAX 3D this summer, this is the one you should choose! Earlier releases like Thor or Green Lantern,
even Pirates pale in comparison to Transformer’s 3D and the way Michael Bay uses it!
Bay also stepped up the acting adding John Malkovich, Patrick Dempsey
and Frances McDormand to the Transformers veteran cast. Even Leonard Nimoy is featured as the voice of Sentinel Prime. Rosie
Huntington-Whiteley is definitely a better actress than Megan Fox. She holds her own very well and possesses a very tall,
elegant sophistication.
I’m glad that Bay redeemed himself with this third Transformers
installment. The movie is pretty long with a running time of 153 minutes. However with all the non stop action the movie seems
to go by so quickly. So if you love action film, explosions and giant robots Transformers Dark of the Moon is definitely for
you.
