It’s here at last!  The highly anticipated sequel to the 2007 smash hit movie Transformers hits theaters worldwide this Wednesday. Director Michael Bay is once again at the helm. Through his stunning visuals and hyper-kinetic shooting style Bay has propelled himself to the status of being the foremost action director of the day. With Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen he delivers once again and exceeds expectations of even the most hardcore action fans.

After his earlier adventures, Sam (Shia LaBeouf), is striving for some normalcy in his life. He is about to start college which challenges the relationship with his girlfriend Mikaela (Megan Fox). Mikaela doesn’t like the idea of a long distance relationship. Sam’s friendship with a hot fellow student named Alice (Isabel Lucas), who takes a keen interest in him, doesn’t exactly help things either. But the relative peace is short lived for Sam. A remaining shard of the All Spark Cube triggers a vision in his head. The Decepticons crave this information for it holds the key to a long forgotten secret. Soon the race is on. It's Sam, Mikaela, Bumblebee with Captain Lennox (Josh Duhamel) and the military versus an army of Decepticons that are bigger and meaner than ever before!

I have seen a lot of action films in my day but Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen is the biggest action spectacle to date. It is 147 minutes of non-stop giant robot action involving planes, tanks, ships, rockets pretty much everything else you can imagine. It’s loud, intense, and has the biggest explosions in Hollywood history!  This will no doubt transform into major box-office gold.

As with any Michael Bay film it’s a roller coaster ride times ten with lots of eye candy.  Literally all the girls at Sam’s college look like models. Not to mention the incredibly gorgeous Megan Fox running in a tank top in slow motion while huge explosions go off in the background. Fast talking LaBoeuf is always on edge as his character is a little more pro active this time. Bay made good on his promise to the fans to include more robots and feature them more prominently.  ILM and Digital Domain pushed the envelope in terms of special effects putting this many robots on the screen in such intricate detail is quite a feat.
Action fans will no doubt eat up Transformers ROTF, however, if you are into more serious dramas and don’t like action this movie is not for you. Exiting the movie theater I just kept asking myself one question: How the hell are they going to top this in Transformers 3 due out Summer 2011?!
