Paramount Pictures and CBS Studios have brought Star Trek back to Hollywood!
This traveling exhibition is only in town until December 27th. The Exhibition is located on Level 1 of the Hollywood and Highland
Center, just next door to Kodak Theater. Admission for the exhibit is only $16 for adults. For the price of a movie ticket
you get an amazing tour of Star Trek props, models, and costumes spanning all the TV shows and movies right up to the current
film. There is even a replica of the bridge from "Star Trek: The Next Generation." You can actually sit in the Captain's
Chair and watch the latest Star Trek Movie! The movie is running 24/7 on the forward screen of the Enterprise bridge.
The exhibit also features a wealth of information related
to the Star Trek phenomenon. The walls of the exhibit are lined with info panels/ There is even a complete illustrated Star
Trek time line. There are also character bios, production history, scientific and historic information, trivia, epic quotes and
more. The hall is also filled with Video panels which run non stop proving background information on the props you see
in the exhibit. Fans even get the chance to play a touch screen Star Trek trivia game. In traveling the halls of the museum
you get a real sense of the historic significance of Star Trek and the great cultural impact it has had on our global society.
Souvenir's can be purchased in the lobby. The exhibit
also sells photo packages which allow fans to participate their favorite Star Trek moments. You can sit in
Captain Kirk's chair or get beamed down from the Enterprise transporter room! The process involves green screen photography
and its simple, quick, and really fun. Photo packages range in price, however, our personal favorite was the Captain's Package.
It comes with a holographic print of your favorite photo. (Our photo actually simulates "beaming down" from the
transporter room. If you tilt the holographic image the subject disappears and re-appears. Its very cool.
Overall we loved the exhibit and we truly hope CBS does something like this again. We highly recommend
this exhibit to Star Trek fans everywhere. You really get a lot for your money. Many thanks to CBS Studios and Paramount
for bringing this wonderful event to Hollywood.
