The Biggest and the Best Moments from Comic-Con 2016

It's impossible to pick a single favorite moment, event or announcement from San Diego Comic Con. There is just so much to do and see at the show that it can be overwhelming at times. Comic Con is always ground zero for major events from the publishing and entertainment industries. With so much excitement at just one show it can be hard to keep track of it all. These are our picks, in no particular order, for the best things to happen this year.

Our first pick was the incredible Warner Brothers panel in Hall H on Saturday. The studio gave us our first look at both the Justice League and Wonder Woman movie trailers. Both trailers have become a legitimate smash hit on YouTube with massive viewing numbers and incredibly positive buzz from fans. The smashing success of the Wonder Woman trailer proved that audiences are hungry for a hero film with a strong, heroic female lead.

The next item on our list was the appearance of actor Benedict Cumberbatch at the Sherlock panel in Hall H. While he's been there for other panels and events, this was his first ever appearance during the Sherlock panel. As an aside, fans are promised the darkest season of Sherlock to date. The highly popular TV drama is heading into its fourth season.

Fans got their first in person look at the costumes from Star Wars: Rogue One. With no Star Wars panel this year, fans didn't know what to expect from Lucasfilm. Imagine our surprise at the display of costumes directly from the set of the recently completed film. Star Wars Celebration Europe stole most of the Star Wars thunder this year but at least we got a taste of what we're going to see in just a few short months. You can see more pics of the costumes in our exclusive image gallery (Link).

The Walking Dead panel is always one of the biggest events of the show. Fan outcry over the way the season finale was handled has led to a lot of speculation and controversy. Current show runner Scott Gimple promised that there will be no mystery as to who falls victim to Negan and his trusty bat Lucille. The answer will be given in the opening scene of the season premiere in October. Better get those tissues ready!

The final item on our list was the star-studded premiere of Star Trek: Beyond. Cast and crew came out for a red carpet premiere and the fans were invited! Well, at least some of them were. Lucky fans got the chance to win tickets to the IMAX premiere. There was also a special swag bag giveaway which included a T-shirt, hat and a couple of Star Trek movies and TV episodes on Blu Ray. Paramount capped the entire event off with a spectacular fireworks display. Wow!

What was your single favorite moment of Comic Con? Can you even pick just one?
